My first wish is to see this plague of mankind, war, banished from the earth. George Washington. Sadly, George has yet to get his wish, and so in this week’s melodically challenged, we will look at war through poetry and music. You’ll hear poems by Brian Turner, Yusef Komunyakaa, Trang, Quang Quy, Keetje Kuipers, Deborah Garrison and Philip Levine among many others and music by Jared C. Balogh, Josh Woodward, The United States Army Old Guard Fife and Drum Corp and Droict among others. This week we’re going to war on melodically challenged, where yesterday’s poetry comes alive and today’s poetry rocks!
